4 Day / 3 Night Backcountry Horse Trek

Four days on horseback. Three nights in the country. Maximum 8 riders.

This is our signature multi-day experience — designed for those who want more than just a ride. Travel deeper into backcountry terrain, build real connection with your horse, eat well, sleep comfortably, and experience the land the Korohe way.

The Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome Ride

1.5–2 Hour Ride

Arrive, meet your horse, and receive a full safety briefing.
Ease into the trek with a relaxed ride through rolling farmland and native bush.

Evening at the house with a hearty home-style meal.

Day 2 – River & Ridgelines

3 Hour Ride

Bush tracks. River crossings. Open country.
Build confidence and connection as we travel further into varied terrain.

Breakfast at the house, lunch and dinner provided.
Slow afternoon and relaxed evening back at the house.

Day 3 – The Long Ride

4–5 Hour Ride

Our biggest day in the saddle.

Ride deeper into remote country, climbing higher ridgelines and travelling through open valleys. With a bit of luck, you may even spot wild horses moving across the hills.

A rewarding, immersive riding day with time to settle into the rhythm of horse and land.

Breakfast at the house, lunch and final evening dinner included.

Day 4 – Pack Up & Transfer

Slow morning, breakfast together, pack down, farewell the horses, and transfer back to base.

Accommodation

After full days in the saddle, return to our private country house.
