4 Day / 3 Night Horse Trek

This is our signature multi-day experience — designed for those who want more than just a ride. Travel deeper into backcountry terrain, build real connection with your horse, eat well, sleep comfortably, and experience the Whenua the Korohe way.

The Overview

Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights
Group Size: Up to 6 riders

DAY ONE — ARRIVE & SETTLE IN

Arrival between 10:00am – 12:00pm

Arrive at Korohe, meet the team and settle into the start of your adventure.

We’ll introduce you to the horses, match you with the horse that best suits your riding experience and spend some time getting comfortable together before heading out.

Afternoon Ride — Approximately 2 Hours

Your first ride is a chance to find your feet, get to know your horse and take in your new surroundings at a relaxed pace.

After the ride, we’ll settle the horses for the evening before enjoying dinner and winding down for your first night.

Horse and rider introductions • Safety briefing • Horse matching • Approximately 2 hours riding • Dinner • Overnight accommodation

DAY TWO — FURTHER INTO THE COUNTRY

Wake up, enjoy breakfast and get ready for a bigger day on horseback.

By now you’ll be getting to know your horse and how they move, giving you the chance to relax into the ride and enjoy more of the country around you.

Today’s Ride — Approximately 3 Hours

We’ll head further out, exploring more tracks, river country and backcountry terrain.

There’ll be time to stop, take in the views and enjoy being somewhere you simply can’t experience from the road.

Back at base, the horses are taken care of before everyone settles in for another evening of good food and good company.

Day Two includes:
Breakfast • Approximately 3 hours riding • Lunch • Dinner • Overnight accommodation

DAY THREE — THE BIG DAY

This is our biggest day in the saddle.

After breakfast, we’ll prepare the horses and head out for approximately four hours of riding through some of our favourite country.

Today’s Ride — Approximately 4 Hours

With two days already spent getting comfortable with your horse, today is about getting out there and really enjoying the experience.

Expect beautiful scenery, changing terrain, plenty of time on horseback and a proper day out in the backcountry.

After returning, we’ll settle the horses in and enjoy our final evening together.

Day Three includes:
Breakfast • Approximately 4 hours riding • Lunch • Dinner • Final night accommodation

DAY FOUR — ONE LAST MORNING

Wake up for your final morning at Korohe and enjoy breakfast together.

After three days of riding, today is a slower morning. There’s time to pack up, say goodbye to your horse and enjoy the last little bit of backcountry life before heading home.

Day Four includes:
Breakfast • Pack up • Farewell to the horses and team • Departure

Accommodation

After full days in the saddle, return to our private country house.
